Course Description
You’ll learn why SAT scores continue to matter in a test-optional landscape and how colleges use them beyond admissions—for placement, scholarships, and student support. We’ll also cover how to guide students through registration, accommodations, fee waivers, device lending, and official practice resources.
By the end of this course, you’ll be ready to confidently interpret score reports, use reporting tools, and help students turn their results into informed college and career decisions.
Objectives
- Identify the components of the SAT Suite of Assessments and explain how they are aligned using a common score scale.
- Describe the content, format, and adaptive design of the digital SAT Suite.
- Explain the role and value of SAT scores in admissions, placement, scholarships, and student support.
- Support students through SAT Weekend registration, including timelines, devices, and exam setup.
- Assist students in accessing accommodations, English learner supports, fee waivers, and device lending.
- Match official SAT practice resources to students’ individual score data and needs.
- Interpret SAT Suite score reports, benchmarks, and growth indicators.
- Use the K–12 Score Reporting Portal to support advising and schoolwide planning.
- Help students connect SAT Suite results to college, scholarship, and career exploration tools.
